What Others Are Saying:
From Mark & Lori and guests Spencer, Joey, and Libbey:
"Thank you so much for taking such good care if our three kids: Spencer,Joey, and Libby! I know they played their little hearts out, they haven't moved all day!! We never worried about them once in the two weeks we were gone, because they were in your care, which is superior! Also, thank you for the email pictures and postcards! They all were too cute and proved what a great vacation they had! I know they played a lot because it looks like Libby lost a pound or two, which was needed! Thank you again for the love & care you gave them!"
From Laura and guest Reggie:
"Thank you for the post card from Reggie! We got it right after I picked him up. I have never seen Reggie so sad to go home! He watched your house out the window until he could not see it anymore....Thanks so much!"
From Wes & Patricia and guest Bud:
"Wes and I want to thank you and your staff for taking such great care of our baby Bud. He really loves to go to Lucky Puppy. We have never seen him get so
excited to be somewhere like we do when we are driving up to drop him off at your doggy daycare. We are in the proccess of selling our home in Southgate, Michigan and have made the decision to move to Monroe so that we can be closer to Lucky Puppy and Bud could go regularly to your daycare. Since he started going to Lucky Puppy he has become more socialized.
Thank you so much for making our vacations and trips more enjoyable. We go with a peace of mind, because we know Bud is having a great time and is being well taken care of."
From Cindy & Gary and Guest Riley:
"Enclosed is the remainder of our payment for Riley. We can't thank you enough for providing such good care for Riley while we travel. We miss her
so much when we are gone but it is easier knowing she is at such an amazing
place. She truly is a Lucky Puppy!"
From John and Guest Henry:
"My sincerest gratitude for what you and your staff have provided to Henry over the past few months.
Our beloved Henry is a high-energy terrier who loves nothing more than meeting new dogs and running and playing all day. Lucky Puppy is the perfect environment for him to be at his most doggy. It's such a good feeling knowing that he has so much room to run around, with so many other well behaved dogs, all under the supervision of your team of caring and responsible staff.
Your pickup service is a true godsend. My wife and I both work full-time, and the convenience of this service makes sending Henry for his weekly visit to Lucky Puppy all the more desirable.
Keep up the good work! I know Henry is looking forward to many more daycare visits."
From Stephanie and Guest Duke:
"Would you be able to keep Duke this coming weekend? We are going to be gone quite a bit and think he would have more fun at Lucky
Puppy!
We were very impressed when he came home last time-he has stopped jumping up on people, and his increasingly good behavior was even better! We have been taking him outside off the leash more and more, and after spending the weekend with you last time, his listening skills were much improved!"
Thank you! :)

Training & Education

We offer several different training classes to fulfill your needs and make your home happier for ALL members of your family. Please review the programs below to see a full course description for each type of session. All students must show proof of current vaccinations, if not already on file. All classes are lead by certified instructors.
Semi-Private Classes Begin:
Friday, October 21st from 7-8pm; or
Saturday, October 22nd from 2:30-3:30pm
Basic Obedience: All the basics for dogs of any age!
Whether your dog is 3 months or 16 years, this 5 week class is for you! The focus is on teaching YOU to teach your dog, using positive reinforcement training methods. This class will cover an introduction to positive reinforcement clicker training; foundation obedience skills; and discussions on Canine Learning Theory. At the end of this class, you can expect your dog to focus his attention on you (with or without the cue); sit; lie down; stay; heel; loose leash walk; leave it; and come to you on cue. We will also target any problem behaviors you may be having, such as jumping; digging; housetraining; door crashing; puppy nipping & mouthing; unruly household behavior; excessive barking; and inappropriate chewing.
There will be 5 one hour sessions to complete the course. The first training class will run longer as we will review the basics of clicker training and supply you with a list of supplies you will need.
Each class is semi-private and will be conducted with no more than 4 dogs. Therefore, there will be a lot of one-on-one time. The cost of this 5 week training class is $125. We do ask for a $25 deposit to hold your position in the class, with the remaining amount to be paid throughout the sessions. Private classes are available for $35 per session.
Master the Walk: The walk is an important aspect of the relationship between you and your dog!
Join us on our seven acres of Nature Trails and learn to train your dog to respect you as his or her leader during the walk. At the end of the course, your dog will have mastered the loose leash walk, EVEN DURING DISTRACTIONS!
This class is conducted using positive reinforcement training techniques. The cost is $60 for the five week course. We ask for a $25 deposit with the remainder payable upon the first class.
As a reminder, classes will be conducted outside so please dress accordingly.
Group classes begin:
Tuesday, October 4th from 6:30-7:30pm; or
Saturday, October 22nd from 1-2pm
Leadership: Is your dog not listening to you when you know he understands?
Does he bark at you until you respond to his demands? Does he take things off the counter when you're not looking (or even when you are)? Does he jump on you when you have food in your hands? Does he pull you everywhere when walking? Does he crash through the door (and you) when he gets to go bye-bye? If the answer to any of these questions is "yes," this class is for you!
Dogs are animals and there must be a leader in their pack. If there is no leader, they will assume the position, which can create an amazing amount of stress and unbalance for your dog – not to mention a very unhappy home for you. We will show you how to recognize inappropriate behavior; establish rules; enforce them in a balanced way (using the time-out method); and maintain social order in your home. Once your dog respects you as his leader, he can relax and enjoy life knowing you will take care of everything for him. And you can relax and enjoy your newfound respect and adoration. Please call to schedule your private session.
This 90 minute class is for you only - not your dog. (Yes, we are the problem!) Cost for the session is $50.
